Fillings

We use only the finest materials for fillings that are safe, strong, long-lasting and make your teeth look natural.

Implants

Losing one or more of your teeth can cause a gap in your smile and the loss of chewing function. And, an even more serious problem may lie hidden below the surface–bone loss.

If your gums and underlying bone structure are healthy, implants are a great option for tooth replacement which can actually halt bone loss. Dental implants are surgically placed anchors upon which crowns are then secured. They transmit chewing forces to the jaw, in a manner similar to natural teeth. This stimulates the underlying foundation, halting bone loss and helping to maintain jaw strength and health as the implants fuse with surrounding tissue.

Patients with single missing teeth who wish to avoid trimming down healthy adjacent teeth (to place a bridge) will find that an implant, followed by a single crown, is an excellent option.

Many leading dental organizations recognize dental implants as the standard of care for tooth replacement. Implants in both upper and lower jaws have been helping patients for many years. Dental implants require good health and a commitment to thorough oral hygiene with regularly scheduled dental exams.

Crowns

Sometimes a tooth has more decay than we can fix with a simple filling. If there is too much decay, or a tooth is cracked or broken, we may use a crown to restore the damaged tooth.

Usually made of gold, porcelain, or a combination of the two, a crown covers your tooth entirely, fitting snugly at the gumline to protect the remaining healthy portion of your natural tooth. The crown allows us to preserve the tooth, restoring it to fully functional strength. It will also restore the appearance of your teeth and face. A crown will help keep your jaw and bite properly aligned, and it will also prevent other teeth from shifting and becoming misaligned.

In addition to their strength and stability, many patients choose porcelain crowns for their cosmetically pleasing natural appearance. Porcelain crowns come in many color gradations, allowing us to choose a shade that is closely matched to the color of your natural teeth.

Dr. Hollis will prepare and reshape the tooth, then take an impression that is sent to the dental laboratory to manufacture your permanent crown.  A temporary crown is placed until the permanent one arrives.  At your next visit, Dr. Hollis will remove the temporary crown and replace it with your permanent one, making any necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit, bite and appearance.

Bridges

Patients may feel self-conscious over the loss of one or more teeth, but missing teeth can also cause other problems. Misaligned teeth, bite problems and periodontal disease may result as well. Chewing may also become compromised, causing food digestion problems.

One option for the replacement of missing teeth is a dental bridge. The bridge does just what its name implies: it bridges the gap between one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges are supported by neighboring natural teeth or implants. A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap, and one or more false teeth in between.

Bridges can restore your smile, restore chewing and speaking function, maintain the shape of your face, maintain the forces in your bite properly by replacing missing teeth and prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of position.

Dentures

Dentures are simple removable replacements for missing teeth and their surrounding (gum) tissues. Full or partial dentures have been a solution to replace missing teeth for quite some time, but recent technological advancements have made modern dentures look and function better than ever.

The replacement of missing teeth benefits both your health and your appearance. Gaps in your smile will cause facial muscles to sink, but dentures maintain the underlying support to help keep your face’s natural shape intact. Dentures also restore the ability to properly chew and digest food, as well as helping with speech difficulties associated with missing teeth.

Complete and Partial Dentures

Complete dentures are made and placed in the patient’s mouth after teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has had time to heal. For patients who retain some of their natural teeth, partial dentures can be used to bridge any gaps. The partial denture consists of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base, which is connected by a metal framework to hold the denture in place in the mouth.

Bite Correction

Your mouth is a system comprised of the jaw joint, muscles, gum tissue and teeth. When you have an issue with one or more parts, the system may be compromised and not work as well. We can help you address these issues with therapeutic options. Bite correction is one example. We provide splint therapy and bite balancing to achieve proper bite and stabilize the forces in your mouth.
